Pricing & plans

Diglot has a plan for every kind of writer — from a casual learner polishing emails to a graduate student finishing a thesis. You start free, and you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel any time. This page explains what each plan costs, what’s included, and how the limits work.

PlanPriceBest for
Free$0Trying Diglot and everyday light writing
Spark$19/mo, or $190/yr (about $15.83/mo)Regular writers who want more room and better AI
Pro$34/mo, or $340/yr (about $28.33/mo)Students and professionals doing serious, high-stakes writing
Max$79/mo, or $790/yrHeavy daily users who need far larger allowances
Universities (B2B)$10 per student/yearSchools that want a campus-wide rollout

Every paid plan comes with higher AI writing quality and larger monthly limits. See AI quality tiers for what “better AI” means in practice.

Free — A real, permanently free plan (no “free for X days” trick). You get basic writing assistance, limited usage, one paraphrase suggestion per request, 3 plagiarism previews per month, and 5 AI-detection scans per month. Authorship Certificates are unlimited on every plan, Free included.

Spark ($19/mo) — Larger limits, two paraphrase suggestions per request, nine paraphrase modes, higher-quality AI, the Co-writer in Ask and Edit modes, and document export to Word, PDF, and Markdown.

Pro ($34/mo) — Our largest standard limits, three paraphrase suggestions per request, all ten paraphrase modes, our highest-quality AI, the Co-writer’s Plan mode, academic export styles, and unlimited document exports in every format.

Max ($79/mo) — Everything in Pro with 20× the monthly limits, and nothing else. The AI models, the assistant’s memory, and the reasoning effort are exactly the same as on Pro — Max buys volume, not a higher grade of output. Choose it when you keep running out of room on Pro.

Universities ($10 per student/year) — A campus-wide rollout with course-deck publishing for instructors and first-language learning analytics. Certificate verification is free for everyone and needs no account, so it is never part of the price. Contact us to set this up.

Each tool has its own allowance. Most allowances are monthly and reset on the 1st of each calendar month (UTC) — not on your billing date. A few are daily and reset every day; the unit column says which. “Unlimited” means there’s no cap on that tool.

A few things worth knowing:

  • The Humanize feature shares your Paraphrase allowance — it doesn’t have a separate limit.
  • Documents and saved research sources are total caps, not meters. They don’t reset; you free up room by deleting items.
  • Full plagiarism scans are not part of any plan. They’re sold separately as page packs (a page is 250 words, packs stay valid for 12 months). Page packs are not on sale yet — the app shows them as coming soon.

For a deeper look at what you’ll see as you get close to a limit, see Quotas & limits.

Pro and Max share the same feature set and the same AI models. The only difference between them is how much you can do per month.

You’re on the Free plan by default after signing up — no payment details needed. To move to a paid plan, head to billing (the upgrade button in the sidebar, or any upgrade prompt in the app).

  • Upgrading takes effect right away. Your new plan and larger limits unlock as soon as the payment goes through.
  • Switching monthly ↔ annual is easy and pro-rated. Annual saves about 17% (Spark: $190/yr instead of $228, saving $38; Pro: $340/yr instead of $408, saving $68; Max: $790/yr instead of $948, saving $158).
  • Downgrading or canceling keeps your paid features until the end of the period you’ve already paid for. After that, you drop to the new plan’s limits.
  • Your work is always safe. Downgrading or canceling never deletes anything — your documents, glossary, history, and settings stay exactly as they are.
  • Refunds — we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. Just contact support.

Checkout happens on a secure, hosted payment page, so Diglot never sees your card details. For the full walkthrough of upgrading, the billing portal, and payment issues, see Billing & payments.

New accounts get a 7-day trial automatically — no credit card required. When it ends, you simply move to the Free plan, and all of your documents, glossary, and settings are kept. You can upgrade at any time. We’ll email you reminders along the way (on days 1, 3, 5, 7, and at expiry).

Free and Spark users can unlock higher AI quality for a while by inviting friends:

  • 3 friends join → Smart AI for 14 days
  • 10 friends join → Native AI for 30 days
  • 25 friends join → Native AI for 90 days, plus 50,000 bonus words

These boosts raise your AI quality, but they don’t change your monthly limits — a Free user with a boost still has Free-level allowances, just with better AI. See Referral program for the full details.

Is the Free plan really free forever? Yes. There’s no hidden countdown — Free is a real, permanent plan with limited but genuine functionality.

Can I switch between monthly and annual? Yes, any time. The change is pro-rated, and annual saves about 17%.

Why are there different tiers? Different writers have different stakes. A grad student finishing a thesis benefits most from Pro’s top-quality AI; a casual learner writing emails is well served by Spark; and anyone can start free. Spark and Pro differ in writing quality as well as volume; Max differs from Pro in volume alone.

Does the Authorship Certificate work on Free? Yes, and without a cap. Certificates are unlimited on every plan, Free included — a certificate is a signature over metadata, and it’s meant to be shown to other people, so putting it behind a paywall made no sense.

What exactly do I get by moving from Pro to Max? Twenty times the monthly allowances. Nothing else changes: the same AI models, the same assistant memory, the same features. If you’re not hitting Pro’s limits, Max won’t improve your writing.

How much can I do on the Free plan? See the limits table above, and note that a few Free allowances are daily rather than monthly. The key Free numbers: 5,000 translate words a month, 300 paraphrase words a day, 20,000 grammar words a month, 5 Co-writer messages a day, 15 inline suggestions a day, 3 plagiarism previews and 5 AI-detection scans a month, up to 25 saved documents, and unlimited certificates.

Can I save my best AI quota for important work? Yes. On Pro, you can switch to a lighter AI quality for simple tasks (like a quick grammar check) and reserve your top-quality AI for high-stakes writing. See AI quality tiers.

Is there a team plan? Not yet for self-serve. For multi-seat or campus rollouts, reach out about our university plan.
